Through the American Rescue Plan, Congress has allocated $123 billion for K-12 education. What should parents, grandparents, teachers, and guardians expect from their school districts? Anne Wicks, Bush Institute Ann Kimball Johnson Education Reform Initiative Director, provides four recommendations.

  1. Funds should be allocated to safely reopen campuses for full-time in-person instruction

  1. School districts should understand and address learning loss which includes testing and measuring students and using the data to invest in the right interventions to help kids get back on track
