Symposium, presented by George W. Bush Institute, SMU Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development
Could principals and superintendents – given enhanced, evidence-based tools and training – become the exceptional leaders our schools need? And could this enhanced leadership preparation be a missing piece in the practical and sustained improvement of America’s schools?
The Symposium on Education Leadership kicks off a Bush Institute initiative that emphasizes the importance of strong leadership in improving student achievement. This initial symposium explores challenges, existing and future research, and policy options that can strengthen education leadership, particularly in districts and schools. Starting with this symposium, the Bush Institute will bring together the best thinkers and practitioners to generate practical ideas that can be implemented and measured in the field.
