Our Great Big Backyard: Family Event Celebrating National Parks

Featuring Mrs. Laura Bush

At this family event, Mrs. Bush read her and Jenna Bush Hager’s new children’s book, Our Great Big Backyard, a picture book tribute to our national parks. Exploration stations taught children the importance and fun of connecting with nature.

The national parks have long held a special place in the hearts of the Bush family. Mrs. Bush recently told the Associated Press, “I’ve hiked with childhood friends in the parks for years […] Jenna accompanied me on a float trip through the Grand Canyon and rode a horse for the first time when she was three near the Big Bend National Park. I want all children to go outside, play in nature, and explore America’s magnificent sites with their families.”
